I've got a cold, bah humbug.

Waiting for it to cool off a bit, then going to make some chicken stock. That always seems to help.

And probably a simple quesadilla on the side.

7. Did a favorite mac 'n cheese dish -

Whisked corn starch into 1/2 cup half & half, set aside.
Grated 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, set aside.

Sauteed diced bell pepper, onion & garlic in a bit of olive oil in the pasta pot.
When soft added water, basil, oregano, salt & pepper.
Brought to a boil, added pasta. Cooked till al dente, stirring.

Drained, saving the pasta water.
Added the half and half to the pot, stirring.
Added the cheese, stirring.
Added 2 tablespoons butter, stirring.
Added pasta water as needed to get a creamy finish, stirring.

Out for a walk between rain bands...

i know you need a lot more, but i know the feeling of that first rain after a long dry spell.

Pan seared tuna steaks. Roasted parsnips and carrots. Steamed asparagus drizzled with concentrated balsamic vinegar and ravioli stuffed with truffles and porcini mushrooms.
