Wow! That Mexican shrimp bisque yesterday was excellent.

So it's shrimp Dijonnaise today (marinading in frig) with brown basmati rice cooked in chicken broth.

I usually do a mix of yellow, orange and red bells, and a fried 4 cheese red sauce with lots of garlic.

I'll finish up the country BBQ ribs and mac salad. But, I'm going to roast a butternut squash, so that not everything is a leftover.

(And with the remaining 1/2 of squash, tomorrow I'll make a soup. So, I'll add a carrot, celery, onion and garlic to the roasting pan tonight in prep for the soup.) And yeah, I keep the seeds, spray with olive oil and salt, and toast in the toaster oven. Makes a great snack!)

We had a big stew with chorizos and pork roast. Vegetables were carrots, hot peppers, onion. Seasonings were star anise, thyme, garlic, paprika, oregano, black pepper, and salt used as a rub. It was cooked in the oven for four hours at 250. Pure bliss. The star anise is what makes it; also, the chorizos.

And we had tortellini with celery sauce and pancetta. Also incredible.

Broke out the beaujolais nouveau! First of the season.

All of above cooked by Resident Gourmand and enjoyed by two guests and moi.
