Whole wheat is best if used the day it's ground, there really is a big difference in flavor that first day. I was spoiled by a store with a stone grinder on premises.

If I could still eat wheat, my Kitchen Aid would be fitted with their grinder.

When I can't find that, I use Bob's Red Mill. I also use the Bob's for things nobody else seems to sell, like gluten flour, and whole grain rye.
