I have no use for this griddle and plan on giving it to my daughter. She is not the most imaginative cook and will probably say she has no use for a pan like this and has very little storage space.
Anyone here use this type of griddle for things other than sandwiches, pancakes, french toast?
How about grilled veggies? Any idea whether this pan is suitable for meats or will everything splatter.
Thanks for any insight.

(22,271 posts)That's a really nice piece of cookware you got there. Somewhere in this forum is a story about me shopping for a stock pot. I found the PERFECT one. It was an All-Clad and only $450.00
I've got a( good part of a) Royal Staffordshire dinnerware set for $30.00 at a Rummage Sale. Here's a picture of the style:

Then, just two weeks ago, I found the most GORGEOUS (partial) set of Johnson Brothers China, including the terrine with lid, for $41.00 at the Good Will:

I just love good thrift store/rummage sale finds. I refer to myself as the Thrift Store Queen.

(111,261 posts)but that stockpot with the pasta insert and it was between four and five hundred bucks everywhere.
I ended up paying not quite two hundred for it at Tuesday Morning.
Once in a while, we get lucky out here in workaday land.

The griddle is most useful for pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon or burgers and hot dogs for a crowd when there's a hurricane or blizzard outside.
Since you can now purchase prefab pancake batter in a plastic bottle, just add water and (maybe) an egg, shake and pour, she's got no excuse to avoid using it. Just give her a plastic spatula to use with it and remind her that low to medium heat does a better job without those nasty Teflon fumes.

(7,473 posts)If one daughter does not want it, maybe the other will.
Since I paid a whopping $4.00 for it, I'm not worried about the loss.
Hoping the younger one takes it. Her fiancé is a good cook and they have nothing like this.
Your alternate uses will be put in a note for them.

(7,720 posts)I never use them because they are a PITA to clean. I sure am glad I didn't pay $120 each for them. I hope the AC grill pan works better.
