Which means I have to get the grill out and clean it.

I haven't had it out yet this season.

Will mix up my marinade for peppers, zucchini and onions and let that impart delicious herby, garlicky flavors for the rest of the day.

Bread on it's final rise, then will go in the oven.

It's really too hot here to run the oven, but it's got to be done.

And things should have really cooled off by the time the guests get here.

I haven't used my fondue pot and cute little fondue forks in years .

What kind of cheese are you using?

I generally use a mixture of gruyere and emmentaler.

I always try to make a fresh, crusty bread and generally have grapes, apples and pear as well.

The fondue pot was left on the boat when we bought it and I have used it a lot since them. Our table is round, so it works perfectly.

And people love it. It's my number 1 requested meal by far.

I can't do beef (pot of boiling oil on a boat - not cool) and don't really care for chocolate.

But cheese? Any time.

at the dinner table. I wish it were more prevalent now.

There a fondue restaurant in town with cheese, meat &/or seafood, and chocolate
versions for a full 3-course meal, but it's fairly expensive.

13. Fondue is so inexpensive to do at home, I don't think I've ever paid for it out.

There is the initial investment for the equipment, but thrift stores/garage sales often have them.

so I'm having cold asparagus, green beans, celery sticks, baby carrots, tomato slices, soft cheese, and of course rainbow sherbet in ice cold ginger ale.
