(29,098 posts)I'm in the process of getting the house ready to sell and I've had workers here for the last month. They will be done this week!
Both of the kitchens in the house are spotless and being a messy cook by nature I've been reluctant to do any major meals. My daughters birthday is this weekend so I did make three 9 X 13 white cakes over the weekend and popped them in the freezer for the event this weekend. They will eventually be an Italian Cream Cake with Raspberry....I'll post a pic when it's done
So anyway, I'll probably just do eggs or chicken with garlic scapes. Have you all tried them? I got them in my CSA box last week and I have enjoyed them quite a bit. I sliced them on the diagonal and cooked them up with boneless breast and lemon. They were slightly crunchy like asparagus and had a light but bright garlic flavor. I might recreate that again tonight depending how my appointment with the real estate team goes. (We have our listing appt this afternoon)
My stomach is in knots...I really need to sell my house....I am so done here.

(135,060 posts)I googled them. Now I am going to try to source them so I can try them.
As for the house....you know I have been there many a time so my advice is just keep good thoughts and a really clean house.
I keep thinking I should maybe put this one on the market since it has become a sellers market here and downsize. Then I think about open houses, trying to find another without having to rent, etc in the meantime and my most I favorite of all packing and unpacking. So I think I will just stay put for now.
In Feb I will have been here for three years the second longest I have lived in any one state or country since I was 19! The other was NoVA for about 4 but my job took me to other states for long periods of time.

(146,218 posts)Sliced tomato and red onion. A couple of tortillas.
And more of those really yummy peaches in the amaretto syrup.
Love cleaning out the fridge to get ready for the next round!

I'm going to put light breading on them and do them on top of the stove. Stuffing from an area restaurant that is sold in the deli, gravy and a tomato.
Well, scratch that! Chicken is still frozen pretty solid even though I took it out of the freezer yesterday morning.
Going to have pork sausage, eggs and a grilled tomato.

(135,060 posts)Maddie is having a steak, homemade onion rings and her normal raw veggie platter. I have no idea what I am having yet. Probably a salad of some sort.

(17,045 posts)with spaghetti noodles!
Big pot w/ water and salt. Just follow pkg. directions.
Add in pot while pasta is hard:
Diced roma tomatoes
Diced white onion.
Diced bell pepper.
Chopped fresh basil.
(any other veggie you may want)
Add olive oil and pressed garlic.
Cook until pasta is cooked. Drain. Al dente is best.
One lemon sliced and juiced over pasta.
Tada!
Sorry it's not complete measurements, my Mom used to cook this for us all of the time so it's a kinda throw together recipe.
I also added a can of whole black olives at the end.

(35,675 posts)Clearing out the refrig. Pasta and meatballs, mostly.
I was going to cook tonight but I became so tired from working in my garden all day that I was happy to find some leftovers.

p.s. meant to add: under pressure to clean out the frig as the Fancy Food Show is at the Javitts this weekend, I think, and my RCG (resident cooking genius) may be bringing home some culinary "finds."
