Cooking & Baking

If you've been following Reddit (or Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare) you might have heard about Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale, AZ. I have never liked Gordon Ramsey, but after this episode my opinion has definitely changed (for the positive). The restaurant, though, (ABC) is a real nightmare. The discussions about this continue to go on and on.
I watched this, and could think of only one word. Well, three words. Borderline Personality Disorder. If not that, something close. OMG (and I rarely say OMG).

He needs to retire. She needs to go on a season of "America's Worst Cooks" to get some lessons in food combining.
I'm not surprised Ramsey walked out. Both partners are far too pigheaded to listen to anyone before they go completely bust. Even then, it would be a real struggle.
Store ravioli buried in weird sauce? Uh.....

And the other is it seems like the only time he tries to stop his wife is when she threatens
to call the police. He seemed pretty frantic that she not do that.

I'd be surprised, though... if a money-laundering operation would consent to the scrutiny
of a national television show.

I'm kinda wondering why no one has said, "Cocaine is a helluva drug."

(53,066 posts)I came away from the episode feeling badly for her. She looks to be in a great deal of mental anguish. I hope she gets help.

(11,093 posts)I wasn't joking with that diagnosis, although I couched it in a joke. I spent 9 years with someone like that. Amy shows many of the signs in that little clip. Unfortunately, for them to be treated, they have acknowledge that there's something wrong with them, and they'll never do that because their self-esteem is already in the toilet (this is why criticism can't be offered) and they can't go any further down.

(53,066 posts)If she can't handle hearing her pizza is undercooked, she's not going to take well to being told she needs therapy. If you ever encounter someone like that in your life again, dialectical behavioral therapy is very effective in treating BPD.

They're supposedly having a grand re-opening this coming Tuesday AND and having a job fair beforehand to hire new folks for it. (She just can't stop herself from self-destruction.)

(11,093 posts)Though his lawyer David Asser has refused to comment on the case, AZ Central reports that Bouzaglo, a Moroccan-born Israeli citizen, has apparently been less than forthcoming about divulging drug distribution and extortion charges that landed him in prison prior to his arrival in the US 13 years ago.
Bouzaglo is also banned from entering France and Germany.

"We both made mistakes in the past. We have done our time," Amy chimed in.
That's certainly true for her: The 40-year-old, formerly known as Amanda Bossingham, pleaded guilty in 2003 to using another person's Social Security number to apply for a $15,000 bank loan.
She served a year-long prison sentence in 2008.
