i've got a petite pork roast (lot of fat, not a lot of bone) in the oven with a couple of onions, some garlic, salt, cumin, and orange juice. end result can be used for anything - delish!

roasted broccoli and roasted yellow squash. Banana bread for desert.

All goes in the oven @ 400F. Thigh first (set timer for 30 min), then broccoli (set timer for 20 min) and finally squash (set timer for 10 min).

we'll be doing the Costco shuffle. We'll probably stop at Ivar's for fish and chips on the way home.

made dinner tonight. Noodles (not my favorite under any conditions) and a sauce made of pureed cauliflower, onions, garlic and vegetable broth. To be frank with all of you (she doesn't read DU), it was perfectly dreadful. I tried adding a bit of salt and pepper, but it didn't help. She said it was healthier than Alfredo sauce, which I'm sure is right. She ate it, her boyfriend (who is a vegetarian) ate it and her father ate it. Her mother and I didn't. So, she had some success with it. On the other hand, she made a fresh salsa that was just wonderful -- lots of tomato, cilantro, red onion, and just a hint of jalapeno (not too hot). I ate a lot of that with tortilla chips. She made a huge bowl of the salsa so there will be lots more for tomorrow for lunch.

Sorry to hear of your family's loss.
