(11,361 posts)In my house leftover ham + spare pie crust + somewhat aging spinach = quiche ...
... or at least it will, with the addition of some eggs, cheese, onions, and whatever else I can find.

(106,886 posts)I've mentioned before that my neighbor and I have an informal meal trade. Something comes out good, I'll take him a good sized plate. He does likewise. He brought over a nice piece of ham yesterday. The guy must have been raised in a big family, though. Cooked a 12 pound ham for himself and his boyfriend.
Probably plans on freezing a lot for later. My BIL does the same - cooks big and my sister and he portion out meals to freeze.
Anyway, the ham is tasty. Will make a good curry.

(146,218 posts)I had some of the most god awful chinese food I have ever had in my life last night. Truly inedible and I threw it all away.
So, tonight I am going to make one of my favorite Chinese dishes - cold sesame noodles with chicken. Will also make some stir fried broccoli or green beans, as I need some veggies.
Hope you are feeling well.

(12,253 posts)dusted with tumeric and seasoned with salt and black cracked pepper, slipped into a hot cast iron skillet with a slick of olive oil and a lump of butter and sizzled for 4-5 minutes on one side, turned, and then basted with the hot fats in the pan. I slow baked a huge potato that we shared and he made a romaine salad. Wow! Now it's a four day weekend! Stay cozy and feel good, Lucinda!

(2,012 posts)Easily forgiven for a couple of your great recipes. Maybe we could just change the calendar a bit and not even notice the fall off the fiscal cliff!
