Mac and cheese Quiche

I got trapped in a in a long slow grocery line on Saturday. I ended up with a magazine of recipes landing on the food pile. This has quite a few different quiche recepies. Here is one slightly modified recipe for Mac and Cheese quiche. I added a bit more cheese and a bit of speck and onion to the mix before baking. The crust was fairly standard with cheese added and using an egg for the liquid.

The recipe had me make the crust. Flour butter, a little salt, cheese and one egg for the liquid.

We think it worked out quite good and made enough for 6 servings.

7. A ?, how did you make the Quiche itself? Cheese, eggs, macaroni, perhaps a little salt, maybe pepper ...

ORiginal in German, measurements are metric.
Crust.
100 gr. flour
100 gr. butter small cubes
80 gr. Cheddar, grated
Salt. i use i/2 tsp
1 egg
Mix flour, salt, butter, and cheese together like a normal pastry, then added the egg to combine. I needed a couple extra tsp flour. Make disc, then fridge for an hour. Rolled out to fit a 21 cm x 8 cm pan. Chilled it while oven heated to 180 C with fan (200 plain)
blind baked for 10 minutes (weighted) removed weights and filled.

Filling
250 gr. macaroni, cooked and rinsed in cold water, drained.
6 eggs
200 gr cream. I use cookign cream 17%
pepper
80 gr, cheddar grated.
Mix all together. My wife wants more cheese next time.

Additions by me;
1 medium small onion chopped, 125 gr spec. I cooked them both together to render some fat.

Assembly;
1/3 of onion spec mix on pastry bottom
2/3 noodles. half the cream egg mixture,
1/3 spec onion mix, rest of the noodles and egg mixture. top with remaining speconion mix.

Into the oven at 180 C fan for 30 minutes then cut temp to 150 C for another 30 minutes. Pull out and let rest.

and I'm embarrassed to say, that I misplaced the recipe! Now, I have it again. I've always experimented w/ making it, adding sometimes bacon or ham, asparagus, sometimes just plain, w/ just the cheese, etc. It's so easy to change to what you like. And so easy too.

My profound thanks to you. May you and yours have a wonderful day and may the blessings pour in for you. Like I said, I'll let you know how it goes. I'm excited to say the least!

16. Thanks! I figured as much, you have done the grunt work still, getting the main portion of the recipe, the buttering

and flouring the pan is a standard thing to do w/ most casseroles, so I assumed this. Otherwise, my dogs would have a field day in devouring what I couldn't get off the no flour & unbuttered pan (they wouldn't mind, ha ha!).
