We will use just about any excuse to justify cooking collards, lol.

DUer Floyd R. Turbo had a post the other day about crab and my mouth has been watering ever since.

We bought lump crabmeat and made the cakes with eggs, bread crumbs, celery and onion. They’ll be pan-fried and served with lemon, tartar sauce and hot sauce.

Steamed asparagus and French bread with butter on the side.

The price of asparagus is perplexing. A couple of weeks ago, they were $6.99 for a bunch, (I didn’t buy them). Today it was $1.89! Go figure.

Brandy and chocolates for dessert.

First time I've ever cooked with curry paste and fish sauce. I think I like both of them and it was a quick meal.

My wife brought home some cooked shrimp from a very good provider, and then proceeded to ask what to do with them. I felt like having some pasta, so I googled recipes for shrimp pasta and the first one that popped up seemed workable. I wanted something easy and quick.

I have to say, it exceeded all expectations. The only difference being that since the shrimp were already cooked, I sauteed them in butter for a short time to give them a bit of a sheen. And we grow our own parsley, so that's a plus. I have to say, we'll be doing this one again. Quick, easy, and very very good!

How easy a meal like this can be. Just a short prep time and one can forego prepared foods from the frozen aisle.
