It’s simmering now. Will add the beans in about 45 min.
Egg noodles to put it on, shredded cheddar and sour cream to top, and corn bread (Jiffy– love that stuff!) on the side.

I’m excited, haven’t made chili in ages. It’s a lot of food when cooking for one so I’ll freeze at least half.

For Dessert: Hershey’s chocolate

I did some kitchen cleaning today, too. Not as big a job as your cabinets, though! I emptied out the fridge and freezer and scrubbed them down. It had been a while. Too long.

Unfortunately I was out of cornbread stuff.

But the beans sure do smell good.

Slowly becoming more confident with the Instant Pot

My gourmet chef wife got into high gear

First, a simple salad with some olive oil we get from a private orchard in Catalunya.

Then diced chicken in a thyme-lemon-garlic sauce she made up.

Accompanied by Chinese snow peas and potatoes roasted in Cajun seasoning.

Dessert was a cinnamon Babka from a Jewish bakery in New York accompanied by some fresh mandarin oranges.

Do I have it good, or what?
