maybe I have picked up more German than I thought. or at least it sounds so comfortably familiar. haven't seen my freinds in 5 or 6 years. the pecan macaroons look good too. egg yolk coffee...eh not so much.

If you were able to understand some of what was being said, your German helped, but they weren't speaking German. That's Yiddish!

but I was recognizing so many words I decided I was wrong. I haven't had much if any experience with Yiddish (other than common phrases used in English too)
