Fried fish sandwiches (cod, wild-caught) on Brioche roll. Homemade tartar sauce., lettuce, tomato.
I'm going to try my hand at making yuca fries. They are so much better than French fries. Hope to pick up a cassava at one of the Hispanic grocery stores that I'll pass by on my way home from the greenhouse. I think the Korean greengrocer might even carry it.
The RG and I had yuca fries when we went to the Brazilian restaurant about 10 days ago. They are so good and very good for you, too.
Coleslaw.
Mango lime kombucha.

(17,153 posts)I told my daughter I was longing for pizza for a couple weeks, and was avoiding getting any. A couple nights before she left for home, she brought pizza for us. I'm not going to want pizza any time soon!

(22,079 posts)We're going to make hi's and her's burgers. The Landlady(!) is making a regular cheddar cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle. I'm having a blue cheese burger with the cheese in the middle of the patty.
We're making sweet potato fries and we have vanilla ice cream.

(22,767 posts)After I posted last night about doctoring a Red Baron and was planning on putting something in the slow cooker today, husband and I got to talking. I had to an appointment for a couple of diagnostic tests this afternoon, at 1;20p, an hour's drive up into town. I don't like to leave the slow cooker on when we aren't home, especially when we have so far to drive, because it runs hot.
So we got to talking about the fact that we'll be close to our favorite pizza place. Because it's so far away, we don't get it often, and have always made a habit after my art fairs, or whatever took us to that area, to order from there afterwards, pick it up and bring it home. Most pizza here runs from terrible to mediocre, but this place is excellent! So we decided we could eat pizza two night in a row, especially if it was this one. We hadn't had one from there in at least a couple years.
20" pepperoni, light sauce, extra cheese, well done. It's huge and I can only eat one slice, so will probably feed us for 3 nights. I made a simple iceberg salad with cuke, onion, green olives, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper and garlic.

(4,232 posts)When I run an errand about 45 min from home I pick up a pizza at my favorite spot. Im due to stop by there in Jan or Feb. The anticipation makes it even more special.

(22,767 posts)since we don't like a lot of sauce, and it really cooled off on the hour drive back home. But that's okay. We like day old pizza anyway. I was also wrong about the last time we had it. It's been four years. It was my after last art fair, pre-pandemic.
I bet you can't wait to get yours. Hope it's sooner rather than later.

(38,616 posts)macaroni and cheese, simple side salad (mixed greens, grape tomato, yellow pepper, carrot, celery and onion) dressed w/ Red Wine Vinegar and Olive Oil salad dressing.
Dessert is ice cream (black raspberry with chocolate bits)
Dad had a BLT on toasted oat-nut bread and a cup of beef/barley/vegetable soup.

(22,767 posts)One of my favorite things to eat. Your ice cream sounds really awesome, too.

(38,616 posts)It's no different for me.
But black raspberry makes the top 5, as does coffee. It's no coincidence that chocolate can be added to each of those w/ very good results.

(22,767 posts)Except my top fav has always been pistachio. However, the last time I bought a carton, after not having it for a long time, it tasted terrible. Not sure if was the brand or what. Husband won't eat it, so I ended up throwing it away. I hate to do that, but I just couldn't eat it.
Next favs are toasted almond fudge, mint chocolate chip and cherry chocolate chip. I want to like the strawberry and blueberry cheesecake, but they have bits of graham cracker in them. I don't like graham cracker crust, and like it even less all soggy in some ice cream.
I actually didn't eat much ice cream for many years bc when I worked scooping ice cream for several years, starting when I was 16. I just got so tired of ending up wearing it. Didn't really start eating much of it again until the last few years.

(38,616 posts)I had gastric bypass in 2004, and since then anything more than 1/4 cup makes me feel like crap.
Just a bite or two... that's all I get.
