Not sure what to do with it yet.

Maybe just slice and heat with some mashed potatoes and salad.

so tonight is "all vegetables left in the fridge are getting stir fried" night. Kind of a long title but it only happens once or twice a year.

Don't think I caught it from you but I feel punk. mr beac has prmised me some plain pasta if/when I feel like eating.

And today started off so well.... But at least it's been raining so I can sleep in tomorrow and worry about watering the plants.

A friend went to Whole Foods and brought me a turkey sausage, saying he had had one the night before and it was very good. I put it on the Foreman grill and indeed, it was excellent.

I was too tired from gardening all day to do anything else.

Nice to see you back, Lucinda.

I went there the day before we last left the mainland and the produce I bought lasted about 4 times as long as what I usually can get.

And the meat? Wow, what a difference. I also bought some of their sausage and it was perfect.

On the down side, everything cost a whole lot more. So it's a matter of value. If I end up throwing rotten food out or not eating it because it's just not that good, that's a big wast of money.

7. Summer squash "lasagne"

Jul 2012

Planks of mixed Zephyr squash and black zucchini grilled ahead of time and used in place of lasagne noodles. Tomato sauce, tiny pork sausage meatballs, a small amount of cooked pasta, and grated Asiago as fillers between squash layers. Bake for 45 minutes at 350.

It was a little looser than a traditional lasagne but otherwise was a reasonable facsimile.

I have a garden and was 'blessed' with a half dozen yellow and green zucchini this week.

i was bad about not eating today and now i'm just wiped out, so i'll just graze. i baked a loaf of bread this weekend that needs to be eaten, it may wind up being bread and cheese or just bread and butter. of course, i'll have a bowl of cereal before bed.

i'm glad to see you're back, sorry you were feeling so poorly.
