(3,147 posts)made from cinnamon challah. Terrible dinner, but I expect us to get our fill of vegetables at the Chinese buffet we are going to earlier in the day.

(1,706 posts)by request of my 18 year old son. He has been complaining lately that I cook the same meal and meals he doesn't like, so I urged him to make his criticism constructive and tell me what he does want. Here is the list he emailed me:

(12,253 posts)then boiled baby red potatoes with lemon-dill butter, crispy fried salmon cakes and a small green salad. French rolls, and fruit and/or sorbet for dessert and a lovely Ghiradelli dark-dark chocolate square.

(12,253 posts)The rest of the meal was lovely, but I had about 2/3 of a pie crust leftover from making a strawberry tart when we had guests last week--so I rolled it out free form and piled it with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and then added some frozen raspberries. So yummy!
....but, now that you mention it a little bit of chocolate would top it off to the max!

(9,791 posts)DH built a really cool dry stack fireplace out behind the garage. We put a fire in it this afternoon and cooked hot dogs for supper. I picked up some deli salads to have with them and filled the cooler with beer and soda. It was a beautiful day in the Pocono Mountains and too nice to sit in the house. I think we'll be doing this a lot more frequently for the next few months. It was fun!
