i'm taking a big jump

i have been put on the short list to take over management of another site within the company. it's it utah (eeeeeeeek!) and about 7 hours from home. there's some significant disadvantages that i'm facing, mostly the relocation expense to the company and the fact i'm going against candidates internal to the site. but my boss told me today that, barring those two factors, i am at the top of the list.

i have to try. it's terrifying to think about leaving home, about going into a site that i don't know and where they don't know me. but i have to try, i have to do this for myself, i can't hold myself back.

the husband is being supportive and agrees that i have to at least try, but he's not as hot on the idea of relocating as he was six months ago. we're finally in a place where i'd be comfortable with us moving off to a brand new place, but i'm not going to make him do it.

i'm weighing so many sides right now that my brain is kind of spinning, but it feels good that i'm even being considered for this and as highly as i am.

you do have to do these kind of things to make it up the ranks. hope hubby can get his arms around it. will they help him get a job? not an infrequent perk when the shoe is on the other gender's foot.

but i will. one of his former bosses does wine distribution in salt lake city and said he'd be able to help him land a restaurant gig.
