Side effects from oral chemo?
Has anyone had a chance to have oral chemo? I've had two (these are targeted at colon cancer). One was Stivarga, which I wrote about previously, the other Xeloda.
I had major side effects with each. The Stivarga gave me nasty foot blisters, but thankfully we stopped them in time. The Xeloda also gave me foot blisters, one of which has turned into a wound, and I'm still getting treated for it - third round of antibiotics, orthotic shoe, hole in my foot, etc.
I never had this problem with IV-infused chemo. It may not be the mechanism, just the medicine, but it did not work out well for me.
