Haven't been here much

I will catch up with the threads later today or tomorrow. We lost Ranger yesterday. For the past couple weeks we had been trying to figure out why a leg was not getting better. We took him to the vet and were told he had hurt his leg. We also noticed the tumor had come back and it was the size of a quarter. His leg didn't get any better.

Saturday was a day from hell. He could no longer lay down until he was so exhausted. Medication did not help and when he did I knew what we had to do. We gave him the best last days we could. Our vet also has a home vet service and she came yesterday. We had been warned if the cancer came back it would be bad but nothing prepared us for how quickly he declined.

Cancer strikes and when it's a loved one-human or animal it seems like it just attacks your heart.

6. I lost a dog to cancer some years ago

She was a big beautiful Samoyed. She suddenly developed a fast-growing mouth and throat cancer that made it hard for her to breathe, let alone eat or drink. She was only 7.

I used to wonder if it might have been triggered by lawn chemicals from drinking in rain puddles and a nearby stream. The dogs we have now are not allowed to drink water from puddles, and I use a Brita filter for their water as well as our own.

I also just received a phone call that a good friend has just lost his battle with cancer. My friend was such an inspiration. He was terminal and fought for three years. No matter how bad he felt he always would give you a smile and he lived every day.

me so sad to hear this and I am so sorry!
It is never easy whether its an animal or a person. Their death leaves a huge hole in our heart! I am sorry too to hear about you're friend. I understand as I still really miss my friend that died last Feb.
Cancer is a horrible disease and there is just too much of it!
