A couple of new series to check out

The Killing
A 13 episode series filmed in Seattle. Very suspenseful. Good stuff.

Outcasts
For those of you missing Battlestar Galactica or the fine actors from MI5, check this out. And it being BBC, you get almost a full 60 minutes of action and adventure. I'm just on the second episode, but this looks like a winner.

Well, I just read the Wikipedia entry for this, and not only did this get really, really bad reviews, it was canceled after the initial season. Personally, I like it. The extraordinary scenery is South Africa.

I thought The Killing was very good. I can why some had issues with the ending but the last minute Glimmer of Hope Mar 2012 #1
I just wish they could have shown us the original Danish series, which Lydia Leftcoast Mar 2012 #2
That is a shame! Reviews say the Danish version is way better. Glimmer of Hope Mar 2012 #3

was shown in the UK, as was the French series Spiral.

Evidently British TV programmers don't assume that their audiences are too dumb to read subtitles. I have the DVD of the first series of Spiral, ordered from Amazon UK, and I asked MHz Worldview about showing it in the States. They replied that an American production company is planning an American remake, so that the U.S. rights to the French original are unavailable. Grrr.

That's also why MHz Worldview can't show The Killing in the Danish original. AMC owns the rights to it.
