No wonder Moneyball was so good.

Just finished watching it.
The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin! ( West Wing)

They did a good job of explaining the formula used in the winning streak, and Michael Lewis is a good writer, but translating the concept to screen coulda been tricky.
Sorkin made it look easy.

Also, Phillip Seymour Hoffman is in it...always a treat.

So, would someone who doesn't give a crap about baseball even like it? Lisa0825 Feb 2012 #2
I care nothing for sports, either, and loved it. dixiegrrrrl Feb 2012 #3

I agree with all that you said. Screenplay nominated for an Oscar. Brad Pitt is really good. Jonah Hill is fabulously good. Both got Oscar nods (Jonah Hill should win). I gave it 5 stars.

It didn't pique my interest at all because I thought it was primarily a sports movie, but I heard a reviewer recently talking about how she wished it would win for Actor and Best Picture but she didn't think it would.

Just as I care nothing for golf but liked a couple of recent past movies about that sport.
It is a movie beyond the sport...
