Just watched Lion on Netflix

yeah, I'm late to the party but I thought it was excellent. I would have chosen it over Moonlight for best picture, although Moonlight was also very good. And neither were as good as Hidden Figures in my opinion.

Hidden Figures was too mainstream of a film, I think, for it to win Best Picture. Great message; great film. Just not WOW!

Lion was a little too obvious in its theme (don't get me wrong; I cried several times during that film).

Moonlight was a great way to tell a story, and it was ridiculously timely.

Seemed way too formulatic and almost patronizing of those it was rightfully trying to glorify.

Lion was good but not great. Never thought about it again from the second after I saw it.

I need to see Moonlight...since we seem to be on on the same page.
