Watching OA on Netflix and it's very engrossing if you like paranormal. But have a question.

Why did Prairie change her name to OA and what does it mean? Just finished epi 5 and toward the end her "roommates" were calling her OA, when earlier in the episode they were calling her by her real name Prairie. Does OA mean "Other Angel"? I missed something somewhere along the way.

As far as the paranormal, not a lot so far, but the storyline does revolve around NDE's (near death experiences). I didn't think I would like it, but totally can't wait to watch each episode.
