Marco Polo

This is probably worth watching for the costumes and locations, but it has to be the worst writing I've encountered for a long time. My god, the dialog is trite. Not sure I'm going to make it through this in spite of the visuals.

Here's my favorite comment.

Imagine being able to afford a Bentley but not knowing how to drive it. That’s Marco Polo’s problem.

As for those accents that are all over the board, they should have taken a clue from Spartacus and used a stylized faux British accent. It worked well with an international cast. Even Borgia managed to get away with a mashup of accents, but they just don't work here.

There are a couple of over-the-top hammy weak spots, and I haven't developed any interest at all in Marco himself, but I expect to finish it.

The only accent that I really keep noticing is Benedict Wong: probably because I just finished Peaky Blinders, but whenever Wong speaks I can't help picturing Sam Neill...
