Anyone watching the new, and final season of "The Killing" on Netflix?
I am -- and it's quite good so far.
I LOVED this series!

(102,397 posts)So much better than the previous three seasons that I found to be very uneven... Great final episodes.

(20,886 posts)It was a bang up season. I forgave a couple of moments of bad acting for the overall quality. Great story, and it was wonderful to Joan Allen.

(3,818 posts)I think started doing it in. People aren't prepared to go with a show for 2 seasons to find out who the killer is.
Season 3 is gang-busters and the last added episodes tie it all up.

because I thought this was a dynamite show -- Love the characters -- Linden and Holder
are perfect together.

Not saying Linden was a slouch at all - I can't imagine anyone else doing the fine job she did.

(29,096 posts)although on occasion, I found his language to be uncomfortably misogynistic,
though that would be more attributable to the writers.
Did you know that, despite having an American father, he was born and raised in Sweden?.
That blew me away, because overall, I thought Holder was, in the best of ways, very "American".

(29,096 posts)is very interesting in that he is a Swedish national with an American father and,
believe it or not, he appears in SWEDISH films!...Can you imagine the guy playing
Holder being ANYTHING but American?...I have a multi-directional TV and I'm watching
a Swedish series called "Johan Falk" and our man "Holder" is playing a police informant
speaking PERFECT Swedish!
It has subtitles, of course!

(47,209 posts)even though I was pretty tired of it before this season, I LOVED this last season. It was a really edgy yet gratifying way to end things.

(3,818 posts)surprised by the ending of the last episode? If nothing else, we got clusure, huh? LOL The other part, no I wasn't surprised. I thoroughly expected that conclusion.
I wish there were other shows like this instead of same old tired fare that is being offered up. Of course, I can do without the bloody scenes, but other than that, strong writing.
Definitely worth watching.

(29,096 posts)and yes, I was also surprised...In the interests of not spoiling it for
those who haven't yet seen it, would you mind if I pm'd you so
we could discuss it?

(3,998 posts)I'm so sad it's all over. Guess I'll watch Breaking Bad for the third time now. I'm anxiously waiting for Better Call Saul in Feb.

Agree - Better Call Saul should be good. Even Twin Peaks is going to be revived - and perhaps a Sopranos Prequel too!

(60,024 posts)Pretty well written - we like the relatively slow pace - acting is fine, nice twists and turns.
A winner!
