Help me understand a visual odd happening?

Earlier this year, I had something happen three times that was odd.

1. Sitting at my desk in the kitchen, I saw, to my left on the white stove front, some red letters. Couldn't read words, but there seemed to be red letters (handwritten style) on the front of the range.

2 and 3. Days later, when I was in the recovery room from pacemaker surgery, I saw the same thing on the front of a large white cabinet near the toe of my bed. Red letters, handwritten in style, but not legible. Twice.

What the hell was that?

Any clues?

I've experienced this before, and it could be what happened to you:

Ophthalmic migraine is quite common. Patients usually experience visual symptoms of seeing bright zig-zag type lines in their central or peripheral (side) vision. These bright lines may have associated flashing light sensations and sometimes can interfere with vision. There are many variations of symptoms. These symptoms usually resolve spontaneously after several minutes but usually less than one hour. Often, rest in a darkened room can be helpful during a migraine attack. Medical treatment is usually not necessary.

Just had the jagged flashes off to the side. Being dehydrated can cause them. No headache at all. They last about 15 minutes

had these type migraines and I do see zig zag type lines in my central vision. If you see flashing lights in peripheral vision, I would have it checked out. When you get older the gel in your eye may start to shrink and possibly pull on retina which could tear it. Happened to me and my older sister, but we were both right on it and made appointments with our eye doctors. Thankfully it did not tear our retina.

eye surgery 6 years ago and the blood pressure meds for my new pacemaker, I’m seeing things that aren’t there too.
Nothing like red writing. Mostly movement on the edge of my vision.

It's not demons. It's the little people who live in your eyeballs trying to tell you stuff.

As in days without real, restive sleep, I'll see see red tracers when I look at something then turn away, like an afterimage when stating at a bright light too long.

Another thing I'll get from time to time is a random, sort of rippled transparent bright spot that won't go away quickly in or near the center of my vision...the shape and look of that reminds me of the spacial 'tear' the villian in Star Trek Generations was trying to get back in to the movie

The next time it happens, try to remember, as much as possible, what the writing looked like. It may not be a language you're familiar with, which is why it was illegible. Just pay attention to what the letters looked like, etc. Then please let me/us know what you saw.

I'm looking forward to your response!

First time was at home. I don't know the date, but I had some foot infection going on about that time.

Second time could have been days or weeks later was in the recovery room following pacemaker surgery. My daughter was in the room with me, I mentioned what I was seeing, she told the nurse and the nurse said she told the surgeon. That was the end of it. I thought then that I would shut up about it. It might have been related to anesthesia, then. But not that first time, at home.

This was in April.

They happen when I least expect it. I've been told by my doc, and eye doc, to not worry - just sit back and enjoy the light show.

For me it presents as a flashing area in my center of vision - then slowly moves outward and out of visual range in about 20 min. For me, zig zag colored lines flashing gold and blue.
