Knuckle pain

I have been having severe pain in my hands. In particular, in my knuckles. I am no longer able to unscrew lids. I have been having trouble with writing for several months now, but this is different. The pain stops me, excruciatingly.

Does this go away? Does it happen to you? What do you do? Will I ever have my old hands back or have we jumped the Rubicon? Any help is deeply appreciated.

Thank you.

Probably osteoarthritis but you need to have rheumatoid arthritis ruled-out. Laffy Kat Mar 2019 #2

If it is arthritis, the severity will fluxuate. My arthritis doesn’t really ever go away, but it’s much better most of the time.

Seriously, I work in radiology and I've seen a lot of both types of arthritis.

That must be difficult. Especially since, from what I found so far, they are incurable.

They talked joint pain. One possible remedy made possible sense to me (I am a chemist and woo skeptic). Ayurvedic herbs..

So I've been taking boswellia, turmeric and glucosamine sulfate capsules daily for 15+ years. I have 2 torn ACLs and meniscus damage in each knee, and was getting knuckle pain.

Maybe it is a placebo effect, but the positive impact has been amazing. But...YMMV.

I believe that food can be a pharmacy so I greatly appreciate the recommendation. I am also wondering if I ate something that triggered this. Any ideas?

We are all unique bundles of genes, so it is possible.

Best of luck sorting it out...

That's a lot of questions. I hurt all over. I am particularly feeling it in finger, thumb joints, wrist and today, shoulders. Weird, I would have said small joints but then shoulders happened. I haven't identified any triggers. But I'm sure some of it is dietary, other environmental.

Thank you for asking, Maru Kitteh.
