After reporting suicidal thoughts, Stanford students say they were required to immediately withdraw from all classes, programs and housing. To return to campus, they had to write personal statements accepting blame for their behavior.

This is gross mistreatment! It has to be illegal under the ADA, surely?!!!
The big state school in the town I live in has a student counseling department and does everything it can to actually help students.
The blaming the person for their own mental issues, and shunning them, is making a big comeback.

When she was at her lowest, the professors knew she wasn't in classes, sent a friend to check on her, found her passed out cold, called us, and guided our family through a dark time. She's come out the other end doing well, and I'm grateful to the staff and students that helped us.

Better in their view that a suicidal student offs themself off campus, apparently 😣
