would be great if they used this for degenerative disc disease. i had a double fusion- c4-7, and the discs on either end of it are deteriorating.
my hip and knee are starting to bark at me. wonder if that is coming from my foot. they both kinda suck.
i wonder who is using it. i think i will ask my rheumie.
meantime, i would say you should look through yelp.

(11,746 posts)Cartiva is artificial cartilage. It is a little bigger than a jelly bean and made out of the same material as contact lenses. I think I've exhausted what I can find on the internet.
I did read that they were working to apply the concept on other joints. I was waiting for something better than fusion since I'm active. This looks pretty good.

Yes I'm aware of Cartiva but do not know if Drs. Chen and Kodros and Ptasek are doing that procedure.
assume these are northshore docs. have you asked at ill. bone and joint?
