i would like to apply to host this group.

when a thread on how sexism is impacting my life gets shut down and i am told it is "only tangentially related to feminism" there is something wrong going on here.
that the thread only got a couple of responses shows that either this forum is a back water where no one dares tread, or i am not heard because the loudest voices here do not wish to have my voice heard.

either way, this is hosed up. and locking threads for no reason is just not a SUPPOSED to be allowed. cross posting is not against the rules. hell, boring threads are not against the rules.

just amazing that i would be silenced here.

The process for selecting hosts the most recent time was set up by yardwork. Host candidates volunteered or were nominated by others. A vote was taken where everyone had the opportunity to vote for up to three candidates OR select the option of voting in the whole slate. The latter won, and all seven candidates became hosts. Five of that set are still hosts. I tend to be the most visible host because I'm usually the one who does the lock.

Gormy Cuss was nominated and elected as host here in a democratic, transparent process that was open to all.

I fully support Gormy's decision.

You asked for a reversal. I explained why it would remain locked.

And the fact that Gormy locked the thread would indicate that she's around and doing her job.

In order to be a host, one of the current hosts would need to make you a host. I didn't understand most of your locked thread, so I didn't respond to it. Therefore, I cannot address whether you were "silenced" or not, but I've never found Gormy Cuss to be anything but fair.

I have very little time these days and stepped down soon after my twins were born, but I am starting to get more time to myself some days.

I'm so sorry your year has been so bad
