Overnight Healthcare: Hackers threaten to expose Planned Parenthood emails
Digital thieves are threatening to release private emails they claim to have stolen from Planned Parenthood, in the latest attack against the organization.
Planned Parenthood officials confirmed Monday afternoon that anti-abortion hackers had attempted to infiltrate the organization, potentially exposing sensitive data of its employees.
Dawn Laguens, Planned Parenthood executive vice president, called the incident a "gross invasion of privacy, if true." They have reported it to the Department of Justice and the FBI.
The hacker, which goes by the name of "E", took partial credit for the cyberattack early Monday, claiming the hackers had pilfered internal files, emails and worker information. It has already leaked information on Planned Parenthood employees.
The attack comes on the heels of a bruising week for the nation's largest provider of reproductive health services, including providing contraception, cervical cancer screening, sexually transmitted disease testing and abortions.

HOUSE'S #2 REPUBLICAN WANTS TO DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD:
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Monday became the highest-ranking Republican to support defunding the group.
McCarthy told reporters Monday that Congress should immediately defund Planned Parenthood until the group can clear its name of any wrongdoing in the controversy following two viral videos.
"I just think, regardless of where anybody sits on the issue, is this the best place that tax dollars should be spent?" McCarthy said in his strongest public comments on the issue. "Shouldn't, at the very least, we withhold tax dollars until the investigation is done?"
The comments show a stronger response from House leadership from last week, when McCarthy's office said it wanted "all the facts" before taking legislative action. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) also said he wanted "facts first" before committing to defund Planned Parenthood.

McCarthy, et al are, of course, completely ovrlooking that PP is already cleared of wrong-doing and ignoring the illegality of both the vids abd hack. Leads on to suspect he was one of those who knew about the vids eeks before they were released.
If GOP is so concerned with terrorism, they should look harder at those attacking women's health providers since they not only have a history of violence, but are proud of the bombings and murders -- and the group behind the vids is among them.
