Well, that was quick. Congress may vote on defunding Planned Parenthood as soon as this week.

This vote is fueled by the misleading videos that made headlines last week, just like we thought. The videos are deceptively edited to smear Planned Parenthood, and they're an underhanded attempt to deface one of the largest women's health care providers in the country.

Attacks — and bills — like these are the very reason our work matters. Our women in Congress will be taking a stand against this attack. And we need more like them to stop bills like this from ever getting a vote.


Smear campaigns designed to deface and shame institutions like Planned Parenthood are bad enough. But it's downright offensive that our Republican-led Congress is using this campaign as leverage for a vote to defund the organization.

Republicans need to know we won't stand for this and that we're not going to let them win this fight. In fact, we're going to make sure we send even more pro-choice Democratic women to Congress so that in the future, these bills won't even make it to the floor.
