3 year old Afghan girl raped; family says her life is "now over"

TRIGGER ALERT. There is a video at the link that contains some disturbing images.

Think torturing, raping and strangling a 3 year old girl child isn't horrific enough? Should she survive, little Neelofar faces a lifetime of shunning by her society.

Rape of three-year-old girl shocks Afghans
By Richard Galpin
BBC News, Kabul

...Neelofar is in a critical condition after being raped and urgently needs specialist medical treatment which she can only get in the capital...

...Exhausted, hungry and thirsty - he had not eaten for days - he told me his daughter's life was now over.

In this male-dominated and segregated society, rape victims are viewed as outcasts, even as prostitutes.

Marriage is almost impossible and a sense of shame hangs over the entire family....

Her family should allow her to come to America to be adopted. There are many families in America that would be happy to have her and raise her. She would definitely be able to have a decent to great life in America.

If the whole family wants to come and settle here, I have no issue with it, but I do not understand why you think she should be adopted to an American?

Her society is the problem, NOT her family. Even her father said that he believes justice will not be done because the family is poor.

You see how Right-wingers responded to those parent less children, that snuck across the Mexican/American border. I really do feel for all the people (especially women and children), but the US, like the rest of our Allies, really doesn't want to get involved. Look at those 43 students slaughtered in Mexico. There's thousands that have died. Where's the help? A lot of the police and politicians are in the pockets of the drug cartel. Unless, there's oil or something valuable that the US and it's Allies can use, the culture of these countries will never change.
