"Star Trek" star George Takei is setting a course for Donald Trump, hoping to reverse the Apprentice moguls opposition to gay marriage.
Takei, 74, said Thursday the two have a tentative lunch date set for April after they agreed to discuss the hot-button issue over hot plates in a top Manhattan restaurant.
Next time I'm in New York, Mr. Trump, I might take you to Jean Georges for lunch, and maybe we can discuss marriage equality, Takei proposed during an Apprentice conference call with reporters this week.
You would be the perfect guy to teach me, Trump responded. You have a deal.

Now, all we'd need is a catchy title that combines DEBATE and FOOD.

(32,886 posts)He completely wrecked his brand by embracing birtherism and bigotry and it was unnecessary. I know the guy wants to be President but this was not the way to do it. I understand the train of thought he followed or that the consultant he hired followed. THere was a Democratic incumbent who he was not going to unseat so if he wanted to run for President this time, he needed the 'pug nomination and to get it, he had to try to get the Teabaggers behind him and that was where he ended up in a bad place. Historically he has not been like this.
Lets see what happens.
