But I have seen several movies of that time period and I have seen nothing that compares to this.

I will say also That I am pleasantly surprised.

something to see. Try finding it on amazon.com. I bet you can get it. HBO has nothing on that PBS show. Man what a crazy time period.

Even for Hollywood release, "Spartacus" would probably earn an NC-17.

sex, sex, fight, fight. Don't you think they can make the point without all that sex and fighting? Some is ok. But really it is getting boring. I don't care if it is straight or gay after awhile boring.

4. There is far more violence and heterosexual content in it than gay content.

Still, there is plenty of gay appeal and sometimes even some gay content in it. I think the producers/channel are aiming for the widest possible audience which means putting forth a largely heterosexual show while providing just enough gay content or sensibilities to maintain a gay audience without turning off the heterosexuals.

It probably is the gayest show on American television right now outside of some programs on Logo. That's not exactly saying much given what I think is a lack of television shows that reach out to or target gay audiences nowadays so that's probably why people notice its gay appeal.

Season had me hooked.

I still watch my DVD collection of "Queer as folk", and have desperately been waiting for another show like it to come along.

I haven't watch the most recent season. I didn't realize they brought it back after the actor that played the main character died of cancer.

Only show where cocks are in the closing credits!

I think it is a very interesting and engaging show. I was worried what would happen after the loss of the star, but things have been going very well, IMO.
