Related: About this forumThe Pope’s advice to trans people? ‘Accept the body God gave you’
He wrote: The acceptance of our bodies as Gods gift is vital for welcoming and accepting the entire world as a gift from the Father and our common home, the Pope wrote.
The Pope also attacked gender theory, suggesting that trans people are actually just struggling with same-sex attraction.
For example, I ask myself, if the so-called gender theory is not, at the same time, an expression of frustration and resignation, which seeks to cancel out sexual difference because it no longer knows how to confront it
the removal of difference in fact creates a problem, not a solution.
Whereas thinking that we enjoy absolute power over our own bodies turns, often subtly, into thinking that we enjoy absolute power over creation, he continued.

The Wonderpope lost his gloss in my eyes a long time ago...
No, wait a minute, he never had it...
I remember reading his statements re: lgbt people from before he became pope and didn't expect much.

(6,091 posts)they are born being attracted to the same sex not with any flaws in their bodies but transsexuals say there is a definate flaw in the body God gave them that needs to be altered and is that idea just excepting the societal norms placed on gender?

He is just as much a homophobe as the last pope and the only things that puts him over Benedict is that he was never an actual Nazi.[/font]

(38,187 posts)falling for his two faced method. He will say something like this one week, then the next week he will say something about the right wing. There are some liberals who will fall all over themselves to claim he is great when he does that and totally gloss over when he says stuff like this. He seems to be playing both sides. He talks out of both sides of his mouth depending on who he is talking to at the time. I don't trust someone who does that.

that's a step in the right direction, the pope is at least willing to acknowledge gay relationships.
