Jerry Seinfeld attacks ‘creepy’ political correctness over ‘gay French kings’ joke

Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he bemoaned changing tastes of audiences, who no longer find some of his material funny.

He said: “They keep moving the lines in for no reason… I do this joke about the way people need to justify their cellphone – I need to have it with me, because people are so important. Well, you don’t seem very important the way you scroll through them like a gay French king. I did this line recently in front of an audience. Comedy’s like where you can feel an opinion – and they thought ‘what do you mean gay’? I thought, are you kidding me, we can’t even [joke about that?] I can imagine a time where people will say, that’s offensive to suggest a gay person moves their hands in a flourishing motion, and you now need to apologize."

...He also rebuked host Seth Meyers for refusing to make jokes about Caitlyn Jenner coming out as transgender.

The comedian said: “As long as we’re on this subject, you said the other day you’re not going to make any jokes about Caitlyn Jenner.”

Seriously? Does he seriously not understand what's wrong with homophobic stereotypes?

He's getting to a point where he's not funny, and he wants to make excuses.

There was another OP just a few days ago with him bemoaning the fact that college students (as well as his own teenagers) realize that some of the things he says are sexist, racist, or homophobic.

say that of heterosexuals who indulge in gratuitously public displays of affection - particularly if one or the other (or both) are ugly - "you deserve each other; I ask only one thing - go make your babies and leave me out of it." Which is, I guess two requests. Maybe I need to update my material.
