U.S. anti-gay marriage group seeks to intervene in Oregon case

PORTLAND, Oregon Mon May 19, 2014 2:10pm EDT

(Reuters) - A U.S. anti-gay marriage group seeking to block the legalization of same-sex nuptials in Oregon asked a federal appeals court on Monday to stay a lawsuit challenging the state's gay marriage ban so it can take a stand in the case.

The move comes on the same day a U.S. district judge in left-leaning Oregon is expected to issue a ruling in the closely watched legal challenge to a voter-approved 2004 amendment to the state constitution that defined marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman.

Oregon's attorney general has refused to defend the law.

The National Organization for Marriage said it filed an emergency petition with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals seeking to halt further action in the case so it could "present a legitimate defense" of the amendment.

Just remember they will be marching on Washington this June. And I know who is sponsoring this "March for Marriage" and who the guest speakers will be. We can only hope they'll be crying in their communion cups but honestly, as their crusade goes down in flames I think the rhetoric will only become more desperate.

Bishops. The old fucker must be pissed off as the world rejects the intolerance that is his gravy train, without hate to sell he is an old beggar without a product.
I am laughing hard at him and all of his conservative bigot allies today.
