Just wanted to share this my LGBTQ friends

http://www.policymic.com/articles/84599/26-powerful-portraits-challenging-the-definition-of-what-it-means-to-be-lgbt

"Queer. Femme. Unicorn. Bottom. Dandy.

These are just some of the many ways members of the LGBT community identify themselves in a beautiful photo series from San Francisco-based photographer Sarah Deragon.

Deragon wants to take her "The Identity Project" around the country as she "seeks to explore the labels we choose to identify with when defining our gender and sexuality." Her portraits show the amazing diversity and vibance of a queer community that for too long has been defined by outsiders."

Really interesting how we label ourselves and what our identity is. Also, everyone is so gorgeous.

1. Some of the more "vocal" cis, gay white posters are not going to like this at all.

But I can't wait to incorporate these examples into my cultural comp trainings.

Thank you for sharing. They are all beautiful.

Too bad some of the cis gay men around here don't want to even accept that some of us identify as Queer, let alone as some of the other non-binary gender categories shared in the original post.

Unfortunately, they think their non-hetero privilege is more tragic than their cis privilege. It's quite sad and pathetic, to be brutally honest. I've tried to educate them but their online personalities seem to be more important to them than actually helping facilitate change in the real world.

5. Hey, can we quit describing people we don't necessarily agree with

as "sad and pathetic". Many of us get that in our homes and families - we don't need it in a hosted LGBT group.

I think you transitioned over from HuffPo because I remember you from there. Don't destroy a great amount of good posts just because you are too proud to admit wrong doing. You've been around a long time, and not just on DU.

Everyone in this group will stand up for you if you are having a bad time, but cut the homophobic rhetoric.
