The gay teenager who was kidnapped and tortured by Russian neo-Nazis has died from his injuries it has been claimed.
Spectrum Human Rights reports that the gay teenager kidnapped, tortured and forced to come out to his parents has died from his injuries caused by the attack. It quotes a doctor who is associated with the campaign against homophobia in Russia. As the victim has not been identified, PinkNews is unable to verify the claims.
Last month an image of the victim, stripped and covered with paint and forced to hold a sex toy, covered in red paint shocked the world.

(8,462 posts)Gay people in Russia don't fare any better with the cops or the military than they do with vigilantes. Being out and gay is illegal in Russia, and is highly dangerous.
Think along the lines of being a black civil rights proponent in Mississippi in the early 60s, when the cops were allied with the klan.

also many gays have told me they view their rights and community as crossing borders. so gays who live in the worst/best places will still care about what is going on in other places .
the US is moving forward on gay rights. Russia is moving backwards.

(55,147 posts)People keep telling me I being dramatic. It's happened before and I believe we are about to see it happen again. World pressure will depend on how far it gets.
people that don't remember history are doomed to repeat it.

If we don't boycott the Olympics, the entire delegation ought to show up in rainbow colored uniforms, and encourage the rest of the damn world to do the same.
That'll fix their little Red wagon!!
They are on the wrong side of history on this 'un.
