Petition by:
Garden State Equality
Mr. Zuckerberg, co-founder of Facebook, has made major strides in the past few years, turning the worlds largest social network into a more open and inclusive place for the LGBT community. In 2010, Facebook made national headlines for compensating LGBT employees for the additional cost to same-sex couples that are not incurred by opposite sex couples.
In the state of New Jersey tens of thousands of couples cannot share their love and be recognized because marriage equality still has not been made a reality.
Currently, LGBT families across the state of New Jersey are second-class citizens denied the fundamental freedom to marry the person they love. Mr. Zuckerberg, who married in 2012, has been an avid supporter of LGBT equality in the workplace for his employees at Facebook but now it is time for him to show support for all LGBT families.
But, Mr. Zuckerberg should know that Gov. Christie is no friend to the LGBT community in New Jersey.
We ask that Mr. Zuckerberg support all LGBT families by affirming his support for marriage equality in the state of New Jersey and #UnfriendChristie.
