From Sailor Moon:
The lesbians Sailor Uranus (Haruka Ten'nou), the butch race-car driver who even wore a boys' school uniform, and her partner Sailor Neptune (Michiru Kaioh).

They were openly homosexual in the series, often flirting with each other. In art created by the series creator Naoko Takeuchi, the two were often in a lovers' embrace.

Their love and their duty to save our planet was one of the most touching storylines in the graphic novels and animated series. Needless to say, fans were disgusted when the North American version changed them into cousins instead of lovers. It made some of the scenes look...well...rather incestuous, LOL.
