Stepping out of the closet...

Many years ago I came out of the closet. I haven't stepped back in since that day. Today, however, I'm going to step out of a different closet...Yes, it's true. Sad books (and movies) make me cry like a little girl and I'm not (overly) ashamed of that.

Thanks for listening. Now back to the book.

You need to do some explaining quickly while you enjoy your short stay here.

4. It's a healthy body, male or female, who can shed tears.

Tears cleanse, they heal, they restore balance.

Often something will trigger a sorrow I've stored in my
body since childhood, and I will finally weep those tears.
I hear myself crying and it's the cry of a child, not an
adult.

People unable to feel store it all up in their arteries,
bones, organs. I personally think that over time unwept
tears become tumors and plaque.

11. "Millions" ending made me sob like a baby...

(Mitt Romney probably did, too - but he was thinking, "What a dope! Think of all the stuff that could have bought!&quot

The Cairo Trilogy books made me cry and sob - but also made me smile and laugh, and also think deeply about life, and who I am. Truly a genius, Mahfouz was.
