how she wants him to find a woman to marry and have kids with. he wasn't raised by 2 gay dads. he was raised by at least one mother who wishes he was something he isn't.

That is a commitment. Rupert Everett may just be commitment phobic.

Read what else he said:

Everett added, "I’m not speaking on behalf of the gay community. In fact, I don’t feel like I’m part of any ‘community.' The only community I belong to is humanity and we’ve got too many children on the planet, so it’s good not to have more.”

The Telegraph notes that Ben Summerskill, Chief Executive of LGBT Rights Advocacy group Stonewall, responded to the actor, saying, "Rupert should get out a little bit more to see the facts for himself. There is absolutely no evidence that the kids of gay parents suffer in the way they are being brought up or in how they develop."

This isn't the first time Everett, who has previously called gay parenting "egocentric and vain," has caused controversy. In 2009, just days after Michael Jackson died, the actor called the musician "a freak" who "looked like a character from Shrek" and was a "black to white minstrel."

And in 2008, while promoting a film in which he played a 19th century soldier, Everett claimed contemporary British soliders "are always whining about the dangers of being killed. Oh my God, they are such wimps now.”

I don't think it's too hard to get inside the guy's head--he's pissed at everything lately, it would appear. If he was not gay, he'd be crabbing about something else, I suspect--he's into that

Would anyone call WC Fields "sad" for saying horrible shit like he did about women and children? They just called him a humorously sour curmudgeon...

For those unaware of the reference, Rupert said he became one for a while because he wanted to experience what it would be like to get paid for having sex.

Today's lesson: Not all famous people should be role models.

Essentially, as a theater person, he makes his living by "faking it" - that's what theater is, essentially. (I mean no disrespect to theater people here - heck, it takes more talent to be a good actor than it does to do anything I've ever done.)

We've likely all met tons of guys like this - closeted and semi-closeted gay people who just want to get off and help other guys get off, regardless of sexual orientation, no strings attached, and have zero interest in a real relationship. Consistent with all this superficiality, their personal ads/profiles demand "straight-acting, straight-appearing" dates. Even when someone fits their profile and they hook up, a 'relationship' with them will last one or, at most, two dates.

I guess if that's the kind of life he is living, it makes sense that he resents that there are gay people out there who are better adjusted mentally than he is, and want to have normal jobs and homes and yes, families of their own with their same-sex partners.

So, I'm not even sure he's an authority on acting, let alone same-sex parenting.

i could introduce him to some kids who have had far "worse" childhoods than 2 parents who love them.

Hmmm, just off the top of my head...

  • NO PARENTS
  • SEXUALLY ABUSIVE PARENT(S)
  • EMOTIONALLY ABUSIVE PARENT(S)
  • PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE PARENT(S)

Wow! Look at me!!! In just two seconds I came up with FOUR things WORSE THAN being raised by two gay dads!

I am special!
