I don't read DC but this feels like a stunt more then anything. At least North Star has always been gay and now he's getting married but just to come out and be like o yeah Alan Scott is gay and at the same time as North Star's wedding, it feels forced.

My uncle was married and had a family before he came out.

Why couldn't the same be true for GL or anybody else for that matter?

That doesn't make sense.

They retconned his entire existence and made him gay. He was not gay in his original incarnation, just since the reboot of DC Comics line.

Don't get me wrong, a gay superhero is a great thing. A good model for kids to see that people come from all walks of life. I just wish they had gone with a hero whose history they hadn't completely eliminated.

Going on how many now? It's impossible to keep track. At least Marvel's reboots have maintained internal consistency over the decades. When Marvel superheroes turn out to be gay, they just come out of the closet, easily explaining away the previous history.

Sorry, if you can't tell, I kinda consider DC to be the Republican Party of comics. (Batman, anyone?)

Northstar, yup - a minor character compared to Colossus.

They're in looooovvee!!

Zero fanfare. Zero media freak-out. Going on how many years now? And either one of them would hand G.L.'s ass to him on a yellow platter. What's more, it's just woven into the ass-kicking storyline without gratuitous reference.

Kinda like the Black Widow in the Avengers movie: no cheesecake for me, thank you very much. I prefer my superheroes Marvel-style. Good stories, great art, and radical leftist politics.

... of the young people of today. They are have the potential to grow up very well adjusted.

I worry that we are not giving them a strong world economy in which to prosper... but still, these kids are going to grow up SO well adjusted!

:-D
