Catawba Calley Citizens Against Hate was started by an Appalachian State University student, and she has seen her expected numbers of protesters soar this week, from about 200 to thousands. Attendees of the peaceful LOVE NOT HATE protest will include a bunch of national media, including Anderson Cooper. She also has a Facebook page, with a lot of interesting info, and comments from some locals who don't like Charles Worley being the face of Catawba-Caldwell-Lincoln-Gaston counties.

(3,310 posts)It's about a 2 hour trip from me; not bad. It all depends on how Rob feels on Saturday, like can he ride for that long then stand for any lengthy amount of time. We're really thinking about going.

(26,154 posts)But I have something that has been planned for quite a while Sunday, and may not be able to get out of it.
HW -- it's a fast trip down 40, and only about 14-15 minutes after you get onto 321 at Hickory.

(3,310 posts)because it's about 3 hours from Hickory to our house. Two, if you ignore the speed limit and keep up with traffic
I have a cousin in Hickory and used to come down from Candler to see her once in a while.
