How's this for self hatred? Wisconsin's leading anti-gay crusader admits same-sex attraction

Wisconsin's leading anti-gay crusader admits same-sex attraction

In a recent interview with The Cap Times, the director of Wisconsin’s leading anti-gay organization acknowledged feeling same-sex attraction, calling it universal.

“There’s not a person alive who hasn’t said, ‘Well, I wonder’ (about my sexual orientation),” said Julaine Appling, head of Wisconsin Family Action, in response to reporter Jack Craver’s question, “Have you ever felt … same-sex attraction.”

“It’s a natural part of the maturation process,” Appling went on to say.

But Appling also insisted that people can leave “gay lifestyles.”

<snip>

But Appling, 60, has never married and, in fact, lives with Diane Westphall, another never-married woman, in a home the couple owns jointly in Watertown. They’ve lived together for decades.

of what they are.
Afraid of what they might be.
Those so afraid of themselves that they become the worst haters, the worst deniers.
It's not just LGBT.
It's also climate change deniers who must trust some god rather than their own efforts, to insure the planet will be here for their children.
It's the food stamp Scrooges who feel that they could not somehow survive without their high paying jobs.
It is those who deny education because they fear growing old (Obsolete) more than they fear even death.
For some, to hate what you fear is part of their nature.
For some, so many things to be afraid of, so many things to hate.
Wish it were not that way.

Just a moose trying to age with grace.

... as a straight male, I know I cannot choose to be attracted to men.

Seems to me anyone who advocates that gays "choose" to be gay might just be struggling with that "choice" personally.

You couldn't PAY me to hop into bed with another woman, lol.

I guess there's something wrong with me? Or maybe this guy is just totally in denial about the closet he's locked himself into.

I have looked at women and been amazed and blown away. It has never occured to me to look at a man. Just doesn't.

All I can say in response is who the hell does she think she's fooling? What an ignorant ass.

She's deep in denial, and she's dealing with her self-denial by publicly denying rights to others. This pattern is getting really, really REALLY tiresome. She needs to be called out on it. Big time.
