“U. S. Government's De Facto Acknowledgement of the Existence of UFOs.”

“What makes this incredible and groundbreaking is that in January of 2015,
the Veterans Administration has finally implied — after many years of attempting
to get them to acknowledge that John Burroughs was injured while in the Rendlesham
Forest, tying it together with the Condign document from the U. K. — it was an
unidentified aerial phenomenon or vehicle that caused the injury (to John Burroughs).

- Pat Frascogna, Atty., for USAF Tech Sgt. (Ret.) John Burroughs

“By settling this case in full, the U. S. Dept. of Defense — because the V. A.
is part of DoD — they confirmed that the UFO phenomenon is real.”

In 2011, John began suffering periodic life-threatening atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib, a quivering or irregular heartbeat that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. He filed for Veterans Administration medical benefits but was denied when V. A. staff said there was no record of his serving at RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge. John sought legal help in Jackson, Mississippi, attorney Pat Frascogna and then-Arizona U. S. Senator Jon Kyl before his retirement. John's V. A. case then went to the office of Arizona's U. S. Senator John McCain.

Eventurally the V. A. admitted knowledge of John's service at RAF Bentwaters-Woodbridge in the 1979-1982 time period, but found those medical records were "classified." By 2013, needing open heart surgery to repair seriously damaged mitral valve leaflets, John was angry and frustrated at not being able to get V. A. medical disability coverage when he was learning that a Top Secret U. K. Restricted Project Condign — that had been quietly de-classified in 2006 — contained information that directly linked exposure to UAP radiation in the December 1980 Rendlesham Forest "unexplained lights" phenomenon to bodily injury and mental manipulation.

Finally under pressure from Senator John McCain's office, the V. A. arranged John's urgent open heart surgery for mid-December 2013. He began to recover to more normal health, but without V. A. medical benefits or his RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge medical records.

By January 23, 2014, John began filing Freedom of Information requests with the MoD and by the spring and fall of 2014, the U. K. Ministry of Defence finally admitted it withheld at least 18 classified UAP/UFO files.

... the US government has always acknowledged that "the UFO phenomenon is real” -- that's why they did Project Blue Book -- they just haven't acknowledged that they're strange visitors from another planet. Even if there was a UAP over Rendlesham spewing radiation that caused Burroughs' medical condition, ruling out an Earthly source (e.g. a secret government project or fuck up) isn't easy, and that might also explain the secrecy.

That still wouldn't make denying Burroughs' benefits justified, of course. I'm 100% in favor of "full disclosure," and much more than willing to have startling things revealed. I'm just less optimistic than some that it would be all that startling, but being surprised would be awesome.
