Jewish store vandalized in Copenhagen

Source: The Local dk

A Jewish store in Copenhagen had a window broken and an anti-Semitic slur scrawled on its walls in an act of vandalism that comes less than two months after the shooting dead of a guard outside a synagogue.

A police patrol discovered the damage at the Jewish delicatessen and kosher store at Lyngbyvej in Østerbro at 3.30am on Thursday, according to the Berlingske Tidende (BT) newspaper.

One of the shop's windows was partly broken and the word “Jødesvin” (Jewish pigs) was scrawled on a wall, BT reports.

After the Copenhagen shootings on February 14th, Danish police have kept a close eye on Jewish institutions and stores, including the delicatessen on Jagtvej.

2. I might get into trouble for asking this question, but

how many attacks have there been on Muslim businesses in Denmark?

Keep hearing about attacks against Jewish places and cartoonists but nothing to indicate that Muslms are being targeted also.

Just curious.

3. Jewish people in the world and especially in Europe are a tiny tiny minority

Muslims are not as small a minority group as Jews are in the magnitude of thousands to 1.

It seems as though when a Jewish shop is vandalized everybody tut-tuts and says what a shame it is. What happens when a Moslem shop is vandalized? Has that ever happened in Denmark? Or, anyplace else for that matter?

5. Well, there's an explicitly anti-Muslim political party in Denmark, the "Danish People's Party"

There is no counterpart anti-Jewish party.

6. Most of the new antisemitism is coming from the significant large Muslim minority

Onto the tiny Jewish minority in Europe, as witnessed recently in France.

This type of antisemitism is often ignored or minimized.

Hence Israel's reason for being.

7. As i told Shira, the only "fix" for antisemitism is to oppose it.

That notion, of course, does not appear anywhere in the Zionist handbook. opposing antisemitism is contrary to the Zionist ideology.

By the by, Danish Jews don't seem in a big hurry to go anywhere.

8. As usual instead of Scootaloo deciding what is and what is not antisemitism you should let us Jews

Decide for ourselves.

A good place for you to start is with Jewish experts such as the ADL.

To say that Jews don't oppose antisemitism is both absurd and offensive.... The vast vast vast Majority of Jews being Zionists (and a few hundred non Zionist Jews most of whom post on DU)

10. Did i say anything was or wasn't antisemitic?

No, I said the best way to deal with antisemitism is to oppose it. This is true for all forms of bigotry. All fleeing does is make the remaining people more vulnerable, and lessen voices speaking up to protect them.

Also, I remember citing the ADL's definition of antisemitism to you. You ran away from it, remember?

I said Zionism does not oppose antisemitism. You in fact proved this in your prior post. You see antisemtism and instead of speaking in opposition, you exploit it to boost for Israel.

(and a few hundred non Zionist Jews most of whom post on DU)

Really, you not only think that there are only hundreds of non-zionist Jews, but also that they're all swarming over DU?

You've said a lot of strange things, but that one... Wow. That's fucking funny. And you were serious, too, that just makes it better

that Zionists are against opposing anti-semitism? For that matter, there is no one Zionist ideology.

13. When you say "Zionist handbook " is that like a "Zionist Protocol " or something ?

Because if that's what you mean Scootaloo, you are skating on very very thin ice and I missed it before Cali brought it up here.

Disgusting!

But Scootaloo has more filthy hate for us with this hateful gem :

To that end, they (Zionists) actively promote antisemitism, giving it a loudspeaker, magnifying it a thousandfold... and then present Israel as the only option. They link arms with antisemites, howling "Jews get out! Jews back to Israel!"

(I googled it and looked at the sources https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=zionists%20assisted%20nazis)

You actually said that FILTH ?

Same as extremist right wing like David Duke claiming Zionist Jews assisted the nazis ???

Your crossing the line here and it's plainly beyond civil Scootaloo,

What a repugnant disgusting post of yours !!!

....in Europe, America, Denmark, etc. They advocate hard against it. Think ADL, Simon Wiesenthal Center, and the UK's very own Community Security Trust.

Do you not know this? I'm gobsmacked because it seems you don't.

The problem is their efforts aren't making much of a dent. Jews are pretty much on their own fighting anti-semitism. Just like 70 years ago. Antisemitism isn't just another form of bigotry. It's another beast altogether. Like 70 years ago, Jews weren't seen as victims. We were seen as owning banks, government, etc. Same as now. Jews still cannot be victims.

Thing is, fighting antisemitism should be a rallying cry for all sane non-Jews who claim to be anti-racist. It should mostly fall on non-Jews to oppose it. Just like anti-Black racism, Islamophobia, and Homophobia should be primarily opposed by non-Blacks, non-Muslims, and straight people who demand that all this bigotry ends.

Jews are and have been only a tiny part of any population. We need help from our non-Jewish friends and when we don't get that, and history proves it time and again, the only reliable option that exists is Israel.

14. There are quite a few attacks on people with a non-Danish background.

I don’t know about any businesses being attacked, but probably yes.

Danish people in general are very racist, and the local “nationalist” party (eg throw the foreigners out party), or the Danish People’s Party, is the third biggest. Racism is mainstream in Denmark, a little bit like in Israel.

If you’re from the middle-east or Africa, Denmark is the last country in Western Europe that you should consider moving to.
