Israel protects Jews against another Holocaust: Marmur

As the determination to exterminate the individual Jew was once dressed up in sick pseudo-science, so today the need to eliminate Israel is manifest in pseudo-humanitarianism.

````snip`````
As Canadian MP Irwin Cotler reminds us, whereas it was the individual Jew who had been the target of the anti-Semitism that spawned the Holocaust, today Israel the state has taken his place in many ostensibly progressive circles. Israel is the new pariah. As the determination to exterminate the individual Jew was once dressed up in sick pseudo-science, so today the need to eliminate Israel is manifest in sick pseudo-humanitarianism.
This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be critical of the policies of successive Israeli governments. I’m proud to be among the opponents of some of its actions, including those toward Palestinians. But that in no way diminishes my commitment to the State of Israel, because I know that without its existence the commemorations of what happened seven decades ago would be vacuous and meaningless.
I lived among Jewish Holocaust survivors in my native Poland between the end of the Second World War in 1945 and the establishment of Israel three years later. I still recall the despair that gripped us then and the relief when finally there was a place where we would always be welcome and where Jewish life and Jewish faith would be renewed.
And that's the problem with OPs like yours that want to try and exterminate BDS.
BDS wouldn't exist without the continued human rights abuses, against Palestinians, and the apartheid state created by Israel for that purpose.
Here's an excerpt from the OP article.
This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be critical of the policies of successive Israeli governments. I’m proud to be among the opponents of some of its actions, including those toward Palestinians. But that in no way diminishes my commitment to the State of Israel, because I know that without its existence the commemorations of what happened seven decades ago would be vacuous and meaningless.
Yes, the quote is a watered down nothing, but it at least points to Israel's treatment of the Palestinians.
Also BDS is not mentioned in the article. That's your fabrication.
The BDS movement is akin to the anti-apartheid movement against the old White South African Government for it's treatment of indigenous peoples...just like how Israel treats Palestinians.
I'm sure that there will always be individuals who will want to explain away apartheid, and gross human rights abuses, as something that doesn't happen, but that would be analogous to an adulterer: trying to explain how how their pants got down around their ankles really is something else entirely.
Presumably life is getting better and better for Palestinians as BDS continues to succeed in fighting their oppression.
Eventually, Israel's supporters in the West will not be able to stem the tide of world opinion against the apartheid state.
But eventually they will?
What's the estimated time frame for when those improvements will kick in?
